Cumbria Trust members and regular followers will almost certainly be aware of the recent letters, sent to the county’s peers, by former Cumbria County Council leader and CT chairman Eddie Martin. These letters were sent prior to the debate in the House of Lords on the 6th September. On the 10th September Eddie received a comprehensive response to his original letter (see below), written and signed by Lord Henley, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
Having considered this response very carefully, Cumbria Trust strongly disagrees on a wide range of points made by Lord Henley.
